Art and Psyche Press is pleased to have Elizabeth Fergus-Jean as our inaugural artist and author. Elizabeth Fergus-Jean, PhD, is an artist and educator whose contributions focus on the depth dimensions of image, memory, creativity, and visual voice. She enjoys working in a wide range of artistic mediums including painting, found object assemblages, site-specific installations, and photography. Her artwork embodies her deep spirituality and strong ecoconsciousness, and centers on stories that emerge from our culture as potent sites for the engagement of mythic material and archetypal resonances found within our lives.
A passionate and committed teacher, Elizabeth has taught in a wide range of venues, including the Columbus College of Art and Design and Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she was a founding faculty member for the Humanities Program. Her focus is within the field of interdisciplinary studies, exploring the territories surrounding personal narrative and creative expression. In addition to her scholarly writing, Dr. Fergus-Jean’s artwork appears on the covers of numerous international journals and books, is frequently exhibited nationally, and is held in numerous public and private collections.
Dr. Fergus-Jean lectures nationally on creativity, image understanding, archetypes in media, and personal mythology. Her popular workshops reach out to a range of individuals who seek to expand their own creativity and the awareness of mythic patterns within their lives.
